What It Is
The Open Time Appliance Mini brings grandmaster-class timing into a form factor that is easy to deploy, easy to carry, and ready for harsh real-world conditions. Use it as a primary edge grandmaster, a resilient backup clock that rides through outages, or a portable validation instrument for on-site testing.
Deployment Modes
The Mini is positioned as more than a single-use appliance. It can anchor a live network, protect timing during disruption, or travel as a precision reference for commissioning and troubleshooting.
Deploy close to radios, media infrastructure, labs, or industrial networks where space is limited but timing quality still matters.
With DOCXO and the optional integrated battery, the appliance continues distributing time through GNSS disruption and local power loss.
Take a stable time source into the field for acceptance testing, fault isolation, and timing audits.

Trusted Timing
For deployments where timing integrity matters as much as timing accuracy, both PT and lite modules can take advantage of Galileo's Open Service Navigation Message Authentication to strengthen trust in its GNSS reference.
Secure and Resilient GNSS
By using Galileo OSNMA, the Precision Timing model adds authentication to the navigation message itself, helping the appliance distinguish genuine Galileo transmissions from spoofed or manipulated signals.
OSNMA lets the PT model verify that Galileo navigation data comes from an authenticated source.
Only authenticated Galileo inputs are used enabling the system to make more robust timing decisions during contested and uncontested GNSS conditions.
Valuable for telecom, utility, broadcast, defence-adjacent, and mobile field deployments.
Applications
Solves clock drift, signal loss, and synchronisation gaps with resilient, high-precision timing that keeps distributed systems aligned in critical operations.
Support for SMPTE ST 2059-2, AES67, and related profile requirements makes the Mini well suited to studios, OB workflows, and media facilities that need deterministic timing without adding bulky rack hardware.
The compact chassis fits edge and constrained telecom locations while multiband GNSS, holdover options, and ITU-T profile support help maintain accurate phase and frequency for 4G, 5G, and transport timing chains.
Bring timing assurance directly to the site. Optional battery-backed operation lets engineers validate infrastructure, troubleshoot synchronisation issues, and prove network performance without needing permanent power.
Why Choose
Multi-band GNSS with up to 5ns time pulse accuracy to UTC — nanosecond precision for the most demanding timing environments.
Dual Ethernet ports deliver synchronisation redundancy. PTP, NTP, PPS & Frequency distribution all from a single compact device.
Optional integrated battery delivers 6+ hours of operation — stays online through power outages and untethered in the field.
Supports all major PTP profiles — Default, Power, Broadcast, Telecom, and TSN/AVB — plus NTP and PPS, out of the box.
x
Both variants share the same enclosure and overall appliance experience. The decision comes down to accuracy, oscillator performance, and network redundancy requirements.
