In collaboration with OCP-TAP and SiTime we have designed a 5 parts-per-billion capable oscillator module to enable enterprise grade holdover on our high-end U-blox LEA (-M8S and -M8F) based multi-constellation GPS / GNSS modules.
The SiTime SiT5721 is the industry’s smallest Stratum 3E OCXO with ±5 ppb frequency stability. You simply will not find better performance in a smaller footprint anywhere - it is the current benchmark in high-end clock miniaturisation.
This module can be disciplined using I2C and is fully compatible with the free Timebeat clock synchronisation software.
The expansion module has an independent power regulator and is engineered to provide the absolute best dynamic performance. Leveraging SiTime’s unique DualMEMS™ and TurboCompensation™ temperature sensing technology, the OCXO delivers the most stable timing in the presence of environmental stressors such as airflow, temperature perturbation, vibration, shock, and electromagnetic interference (EMI).
With ±5 ppb stability at 10 MHz frequency, in the industry's smallest 9 x 7 mm footprint. These devices can be used to replace legacy quartz VCOCXOs in emerging 5G and IEEE 1588 synchronisation applications while improving overall system performance and robustness.
This expansion board fits directly onto the TimeCard Mini GNSS module so that it can be used in combination with a Raspberry Pi CM4 IO board or our very own TimeCard Mini PCIe Card adapter.
Combining the multi-constellation GPS / GNSS module and the SiTime 5721 expansion module you get all of the performance from an enterprise-grade grandmaster clock in the palm of your hand and at the lowest prices around. Not only do you save space, and power but you also save money.
Simple installation, it just clicks into place and you are done - You will not get a better solution for the same price anywhere else!
