Our White Rabbit board, revealed
We are excited to reveal our new White Rabbit board, a milestone in bringing sub-nanosecond synchronisation to the market. White Rabbit is a technology originally pioneered at CERN to meet the world’s most demanding precision requirements.
Picosecond accuracy, measured in our lab
What accuracy do you get in White Rabbit switch cascades? Here is the latest update from the lab where I show how White Rabbit accuracy stays in the picosecond range even in a cascade with 4 switches. These are the numbers we are currently seeing — they are real world.
White Rabbit timing node
Sub-nanosecond synchronisation to a White Rabbit master, in a chassis that takes up to three nodes per 1RU of 19" rack space.
Timing protocols:
• White Rabbit (WR)
• IEEE 1588 PTP
• SyncE syntonisation
• NTP
Supported profiles:
• Telecom ITU-T G.8265.1
• Telecom ITU-T G.8275.1
• Power utility IEEE C37.238-2011
• Power utility IEEE/IEC 61850-9-3
Inputs and outputs:
• WR compatible optical or Ethernet link
• 4x WR ports and 10x frequency outputs per node
• 10 MHz and 1 PPS, plus configurable additional outputs
• Optional precision external reference input
Resilience and monitoring
Multi-source failover switches transparently between WR, PTP and other references whenever a degradation or failure is detected. A built in monitoring engine continuously evaluates every active input, including WR, PTP and 1 PPS or 10 MHz sources, and logs synchronisation metrics for long term diagnostics and export.
Holdover in GNSS denied sites
OCXO or Rubidium oscillator options keep the node stable at edge and GNSS denied locations, making it a dependable last mile timing source for finance, telecom and scientific instrumentation.
Physical
250 mm x 105 mm x 40 mm, 0.8 kg, 12 V 2.5 A, under 10 W.
