Collection: FAQ

Answers to the questions we get asked most about Timebeat hardware, shipping, warranty and support.

Frequently asked questions

Shipping, warranty, volume pricing and product selection — answered.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes. We ship worldwide from the UK, typically via Royal Mail or DHL (other couriers may be used for some destinations). International customs charges and import duties are the responsibility of the buyer.

How quickly will my order be dispatched?

In-stock items typically dispatch within 48 hours of your order being placed. You will receive tracking details by email as soon as your order ships.

Is there free shipping?

Yes — UK orders over £500 ship free. The threshold applies to your basket total, so adding an antenna or accessories to a grandmaster clock order usually qualifies.

What warranty do Timebeat products come with?

All hardware carries a 3-month manufacturer warranty covering defects in materials and workmanship. The warranty does not cover customer damage. Extended support is available through our support plans.

What if something arrives faulty or damaged?

We do not offer a general returns window. If an item arrives damaged, faulty or not as ordered, contact sales@timebeat.app straight away and we will repair, replace or refund it under the 3 month manufacturer warranty. Your statutory rights are not affected.

Do you offer volume pricing?

Yes. Quantity discounts apply automatically at checkout: 5% off 5+ units, 10% off 10+ units and 15% off 25+ units of a product. For larger programmes or framework agreements, request a quote.

Which grandmaster clock do I need?

As a rule of thumb: the Open Timecard Mini family suits edge, embedded and lab deployments; the Open Timecard is a PCIe card for servers in the data centre; the Open Time Appliance and Open Time Server are turnkey rack units; and the OCP-TAP Timecard targets hyperscale and open-compute environments. Every product page includes a full specification, and our team will gladly advise on fit.

Are the cards compatible with standard PTP and NTP clients?

Yes. Timebeat hardware serves time over IEEE 1588 PTP and NTP, and works with standard open-source clients such as linuxptp and chrony as well as Timebeat's own software stack.

Do I need a GNSS antenna?

Yes — a grandmaster clock needs GNSS reception to discipline its oscillator to UTC. If you don't already have one installed, add our multi-band GNSS antenna (L1/L5) to your order; product pages suggest it automatically in the “Complete the build” section.

Is the product I need in stock?

Items shown as in stock ship from our UK facility within 48 hours. If a product is marked out of stock, contact us for lead times — many items can be built to order.

Can I get a discount on my first order?

Yes — join our mailing list and we'll send you a £25 welcome code to use on your first order.

How do I get technical support?

Our documentation and support portal is at support.timebeat.app. You can also reach the engineering team through the contact page — support is provided by the people who build the products.

Do you support enterprise procurement?

We regularly supply enterprises, national labs and public bodies. For purchase orders, framework agreements or vendor onboarding, get in touch and we'll take care of the paperwork.

Can hardware be customised for my project?

Yes. Oscillator upgrades (including OCXO and DOCXO options), form-factor changes and OEM builds are available. See customise hardware or contact us with your requirements.
